Programme Management
Helping a complex programme to re-locate business critical facilities without loss of operational service
Client: A leading civil Air Traffic Management solutions provider
Context
As a leading solutions provider in the civil Air Traffic Management market, our client was engaged in a complex programme involving the re-location of ATM facilities without loss of operational service. integrate acted as the client's systems engineering partner during the delivery of the programme.
What we did
We began by addressing the programme management organisational structures that would be best suited to this programme, and championed the adoption of an innovative Integrated Project Team approach. We then went on to provide an important element of the Integrated Project Team leadership team during programme delivery. Activities undertaken included:
- developing system architectures for each of the facilities, defining systems, technical services and interfaces
- providing guidance on best practice to the project team, leading to the development of a Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) defining the systems and technical services down to component level
- developing a Statement of Work (SOW) for all project activities
- reviewing and assessing the project requirements, leading to the definition of a DOORS database schema which facilitated a flexible and structured approach to the traceability of project information
- implementing the schema and the capture, decomposition and linking of all requirements - from User, through System, down to Technical Service - supported by satisfaction arguments (rich traceability) which link acceptance methods and criteria to the associated requirements
- reviewing and assessing project documentation, processes and procedures
Outcome
The re-location programme was successfully completed, without loss of operational continuity, against challenging timescales.
